I am currently trying to increase my +hit, but at what point am I gimping myself by sacrificing +dmg? Any ideas?

the spell hit cap for warlocks is 202. Which is a 16% hit rate against level 73 mobs which every boss is. (bosses actually always have a 17% rate to resist or be missed but there is a defualt 1% you can bypass which is why its 16%).
I hae about 164 hit with 1050 damage. With suppresion im at the 16% hit cap so i dont miss with my affliction spells. However as a affliction lock the majority of my dps is still shadowbolt and improved shadowbolt. So the less shadowbolts i miss the higher my dps is. So hit rating is important.
The genral rule of thumb i think most locks argree is on 1 hit is equal to 5 damage. Meaning if you use the veild noble topaz (+4 hit spell hit rating +5 spell damage) you are therotaically gaining 25 damage. Until you hit that cap spell hit rating is vauled over damage unless the spell hit loss is minimum and the damage gain is great. Then once you hit the cap of 202 you can drop suppresion altogether and put those 5 talent points elswhere to maximize your affliction dps.

i took a looksee at your armory.
Basically you need to get the spellstrike set and equip ever slot with veiled nobles. There's also a spellhit trinket in terokarr (Toros quest i think) that you could get. Other than that you need to run kara/gruul/mag for spellhit gear.
